Seriously, I hope so bad that you will be using a good camera mod with these, and that you go out and explore in camera man mode.

Stormy skies in Greylings. That first one is getting really intense if you have a low horizon.
But when you look upwards, sometimes the clouds break!
(A good camera mod is really essential to enjoy the literal full scope here)
Well here’s a difficult one. I like both versions… (top and bottom pics belong to same sky)
Left (unstretched) has more colour variation, but the dimensions are slightly off — and right (stretched) has less of the dark blue in it, but the dimensions are right and also, the clouds do that realistic thing.
Would you want both options or should I choose? And if I do, which one?
The thing I love most about stretching these textures up to cover the entire half-globe is how present the clouds are when I move around with the camera.
It is a really strong illusion.

Might have to revisit some of the older textures and see if they need stretching. They’ve been sitting in your downloads folders for what, three years? They could do with some exercise. :)
I was really struck by the realism of these clouds when I stretched the texture… it freaked me out when I moved the camera. They really just hung there!
Thanks for all the kind words on my pictures yesterday, and for letting me know what your favourites are! I’ll include them all I think this time, but it’s useful to know what kind of mood/colours particularly strike you. I’m really just putting ready-made things together, but my choices do influence the end result.

More testing of sky textures in Middleground. Which is your favourite?
This is me testing the first trial neighbourhood sky with the textures bluerubberbear sent me: “oooooo that’s gorgeous - it is so dark and ominous - shall we just spin round the neighbourhood and look at the pretty!”
Also I tried putting the texture on Javiera’s ‘hood sky to test out their mapping because it uses larger textures, but I don’t like the mapping. It goes too far down — you can’t see half of the texture and the other half looks stretched!
Ok, going to try out the other textures now. *scurries off*
I should add that these pics aren’t edited (other than cropping, resizing and sharpening)! So these are actual ingame colours.
