Hello!

How are you doing?

So I haven’t been around in the Sims community in months, but there are Sims 4 rumours now? Gosh, that makes me feel old. :P

I still get nostalgic from time to time and then I miss my little Sims worlds and the great community interaction that seriously have kept me sane during my teen years. 

Doing great now with all kinds of RL stuff. I’m still a good hippie sap and even more so. Celebrating it every day. Yay hugs for all.

But anyway, I might dip my feet in playing TS2 (or even installing 3?) again. Building up my own ‘hoods still makes me giddy with joy but it takes for-freaking-ever, so does anyone have recommendations for Sims and decorated lots?? :) (I can handle the terrain myself but would love to see what’s been created there, too!) OR what TS3 worlds are totally gorgeous?

Can I bribe you with the promise of pictures? ;)

NaNoWriMo & the Sims;

Less than a month until National Novel Writing Month is upon us all! Frenzied typing, sleepless nights and plots holes big enough to chuck imaginary worlds into here we come. Then again, it’s only fifty-thousand words in thirty days, right? :P

I WILL be writing a novel this November, whatever happens and however busy I may be. >:D

(Sorry for disappearing — RL is busy in positive and negative ways, and I’m also taking a double load of classes alongside organising Celtic and study-related events for student societies! I have ideas for Sims projects, but I can’t say when I’ll return to the community. Take care, dear Simmers.)

Personal mission of the week: building up my downloads folder with all the pretty things instead of just the basics. So far I think I’ve got the hair covered. NH deco: check. Now for clothes, objects, build mode stuff… this is going to take forever. xD

Life

I had a great time on my hiking trip!
During the time I have been home again, it was so hot that I had trouble thinking clearly. So I read books, caught up on some Sims stories, and got excited about all the subjects I’m taking next year and the one after that. (It’s going to get super busy again. Why does the university offer so many interesting courses that one can hardly fit it all in three years of study?)

But the temperature is returning to a more reasonable Dutch summer temperature — one where you can actually have your window open and not be toasted — and I can feel my inspiration returning as well! It probably helped that I went on a good old hair downloading spree last night. (370MB and counting. NO REGRETS.)

I feel super inspired and am planning for a big new project, but in the meantime I’m touching up one or two terrains to get them ready for sharing. :)

Going away

on a hiking trip for a couple of weeks! Taking lots of RL landscape pictures. I’ll resurface. With some gifts hopefully :)

I played the Nilsson family the other day. Pernilla Nilsson, my founder, has two daughters by a townie woman but for some reason she refuses to fall in love with her “girlfriend”; and as I play by following wants mostly, that means she’s a single mother still. It’s hard sometimes, but she manages, and has the townie woman come over to help and bond with her daughters who are growing up. Pernilla simply doesn’t seem able to bond, which is the cause of internal conflict for this poor Family Sim. Not even an affair with the good witch who taught her the ways of the light has so far lit any sparks in her…

Despite this little unfolding story I’ve found it hard to connect to the Sims themselves. Editing pictures gives me a bit of the enthusiasm back, but I miss my old NLC3 family… I might dig up some pictures. They had an interesting story and were such fun to play. This family feels a bit secluded and away from the rest of the world for no real reason — perhaps I should move them into a town environment. In other words, I’m suffering Sims ADHD. :P

Also I changed my icon! I’m still the same person — don’t get confused! — but was feeling like a change. I do love Pernilla’s face. :)

If you must know, I have transformed into a twitching pile of laughter and giddiness. That was one of the most entertaining messages I’ve read in some time. :’) I bet you have a great laugh thinking up all these notes of pride and passion, my dear sir. (Or madam, though it fits not in the phrase, let it be mentioned.)

But you manage a swift balance between compliments and haughtiness and I must thank you for your attention and kind words! After all, there are many more talented and more… mature Simmers here to woo.

To put your troubled heart at rest, I will answer: yes, I will share Avonlea; after I’ve built for it the necessary farms and houses. And yes, there will be more pictures and more content to come.
